had sparring camp at the ntu, organised by the ntu seniors. the camp starts on friday, but three of us, shawn joey and me, went on sat morning. i was totally not in the mood to go for the camp! then we got lost, couldn't find the sports and recreation centre. the us driver said 5mins of walking, when we walked 30mins.
then finally reach! everyone was having breakfast, and we seemed so extra, so out of place! but we still went ahead anyway, so three of us were split up to the different groups. everywhere we go, there are hwa chong people. it's literally a hwa chong camp! later i changed group, with amirah. poor shawn and joey, they were alone! but anyway, my group was allright.
and ntu training differs so so much from jj's one. jj's much slacker, which is good in a way, but bad too. ntu training, they seriously go for speed! we learned like ten thousand kicks and footworks in a day! and it was rough man. we're like the only white belts there, and the rest kicked so well! gosh, it's humilating! and worse, this is a sparring camp, so we learn how to spar. and there's a sparring training, and i sparred with a girl. didn't have my specs on, so i could'nt see a thing! goodness, i got kicked and kicked and punched, and countered only with a sucessful kick! what the hell. pain man! i hate my short-sightedness! and i'm gonna get contacts soon! but shitty, we can't spar in school, stupid school rules! but anyway, i can go down to ntu to train!
at the end of the camp, we had to break a wooden plank to get our cert, and people kicked two or three times to break it, and i had to kick like six times? oh my god, i was so embrassed!
but for all the embrassement and humilation, i've learned manymany things. all the kicks, sparring techniques and perservance! and of cos, i found out that many of ntu fighters, senior belters are from jjc1 yay!=) many of the ntu fighters sparred real well.
oh well, i didn;t regret going to the camp afterall! this camp made me love tkd even more!
